报告人简介:Moore Timothy Allen,澳大利亚Cipher咨询有限公司董事总经理,昆士兰科技大学兼职教授,中国矿业大学和中国矿业大学(北京)客座教授。1989年获美国肯塔基大学地质学博士学位,目前主要从事煤地质学、沉积学、煤层气地质学、煤有机地球化学等学科领域的科研和生产工作,工作区域涉及亚洲、大洋洲和美洲。曾在在中石化澳大利亚石油天然气有限公司、Origin能源有限公司、Ephindo能源有限公司等能源企业或研究机构担任首席地质学家和高级顾问。现担任《International Journal of Coal Geology》和《Indonesian Journal on Geoscience》期刊编委,目前在国际知名期刊和报告上发表260余篇论文。
讲座内容:Coal bed methane (CBM) reservoirs are highly variable between and within basins, and importantly within a single coal seam. Some of the variability can be ascribed to tectonics and hydrothermal events. However, most of the properties of a CBM reservoir can be traced back to the conditions which occurred during the peat accumulation stage. Of course those properties are modified as the peat is buried and transformed from heat and pressure into lignite and finally into high rank coal. This lecture will examine what conditions occur in a peat mire that determine different peat and ultimately different coal types and how those differences affect CBM properties. We will also look at how coalification modifies those properties and what that means in terms of permeability, gas saturation and gas production.
